Gpac is working with a family-owned food manufacturer that has been in business for over70 years in the Long Beach area of Long Island, New York that is seeking a Payroll/HR Assistant.

The ideal candidate MUST BE BILINGUAL (English/Spanish)

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong communication, and practical HR knowledge truly matter.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Compiling, and updating employee records.
Prepare personnel reports and documentation for employees relating to performance evaluations and to determine union eligibility.
Process data related to time off requests, absences and leaves.
Process layoffs, suspensions, terminations, etc.
Assist with day-to-day HR operations.
Providing clerical and administrative support to all employees
Preparing paperwork for new union and welfare fund members.
Management of employee lockers and uniforms.
Assist other departments with various data requests (HR, Tax, Union Welfare Fund, etc.)
Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, coordinating new employee orientations and training.
Manage employee identification badges, and key fobs.
Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution of their queries.
Properly handle employee requests, complaints, grievance procedures, rules and regulations.

Skills Needed:

Payroll Experience. Paychex preferred.
Effective administration and people management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Solid decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.

Pay Range: $60k-$65k plus Benefits
